Electronic Payments Lends Its Support to Small Business Saturday® and Drives Commerce to Small Business Nationwide

Calverton, New York – Thursday, November 15, 2012 – Electronic Payments, leading provider of merchant accounts and payment processing solutions, recently announced its participation in this year’s Small Business Saturday on November 24, 2012.  Small Business Saturday is a day dedicated to strengthening the community by supporting local, independently owned small businesses across the country.

American Express, founding partner of Small Business Saturday, is preparing for the third annual initiative.  In 2011, millions of consumers shopped at small businesses on Small Business Saturday.1

According to the Small Businesses Association, small businesses nationwide have accounted for 65% of net new jobs created over the past 17 years and represent 99.7 percent of all employer firms.
Electronic Payments recognizes the importance of supporting small businesses, the jobs they create, and the culture they instill in local communities.

“As a business owner myself, I understand the significance of preserving local mom-and-pops,” stated Michael Nardy, CEO of Electronic Payments.  “When I founded this company, I reached out to local businesses for partnership and support.  To this day, I uphold those same partnerships and remain a loyal patron of the businesses within my community.   Electronic Payments is proud to be a part of this initiative and hopes that the movement motivates consumers to patronize their local shops beyond Small Business Saturday.”

American Express has created a variety of ways to help raise awareness about the importance of supporting small businesses and motivate consumers to Shop Small®.  Small business owners and their supporters can visit to take advantage of an array of tools, including:

  • Free online advertising for qualifying small business owners.2
  • Social media tools.
  • Personalized point-of-purchase materials for small business owners to show their involvement in the program.
