Electronic Payments Announces Recipient of 2011 Business & Technology Scholarship

Calverton, New York - June 13, 2011 - Electronic Payments is proud to announce the first recipient of the annual Electronic Payments Business & Technology Scholarship. The $2,500 tuition scholarship is awarded to Southampton High School students who are pursuing an education and career in technology or business-related fields.

The Electronic Payments Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce Jordan Seymore of Southampton, New York as the recipient. Jordan is a senior at Southampton High School and will pursue a degree in Computer Science at Stony Brook University during the 2011-2012 academic year. The scholarship will be presented to Jordan during the school’s Senior Scholarship and Awards Night on June 23, 2011.

“We are elated to begin this new local scholarship tradition with a recipient like Jordan,” said Michael Nardy, Founder and CEO of Electronic Payments and alumnus of Southampton schools. “Jordan is an exemplary academic student and has assiduously demonstrated superior work ethic in his studies, athletic achievements, extracurricular activities and community involvement. We are confident that Jordan will excel in his future academic endeavors and will be a true leader and ambassador for Stony Brook University.”

To be considered for the scholarship, eligible candidates must be in their senior year of high school and enrolled in a collegiate undergraduate program for the 2011-2012 academic year. Selection criterion includes outstanding academic achievement, community involvement and a demonstrated interest in technology, business and entrepreneurship. Application evaluations emphasized a letter of recommendation, curriculum vitae and an essay describing how they envision the integration between business and social media evolving within the next five years.
